The basic mechanics of eyeglasses frame have not changed much for over a hundred years and so is the problem of slipping glasses. The temple holds the glasses by gripping on the back of the ears either by friction or simply supported. The vast majority of the temples, be it skull temple design or library temple design uses friction. In skull temple design, the temple tip is recommended to bend at not more than 45 degrees down as any further may cause soreness to the back of the ears. However, in many cases, friction alone is insufficient to support the glasses. The cable design features a temple that curl down behind the ears. Instead of using friction, the pair of glasses is simply supported by the back of the ear. While this effectively reduces the incidence glasses slipping, it often causes pain to the back of the ears. Such century year old system which uses single point of contact (friction or simply supported) is insufficient to provide a comfortable, non-slip experience for users.

Beta-Simplicity Eyewear System 2.0 uses two point of contacts to support the glasses. Instead of either friction or simply supported, this system uses both. It features a high friction material on a bendable temple tip that can be adjusted inwards such that it grip onto the head. A soft loop that touches the back of the ears provide additional support.

With the combination of friction and support from the back of the ears, Eyewear System 2.0 give more support and comfort to the user.
