A well rounded education includes letting students learn real world applications of their knowledge gained in the classroom. Hence Beta-Simplicity is taking up a mentorship role in NJC (National Junior College) Entrepreneurial Dare Programme (EDP) to guide the students in the path of product development from concept to reality. While Singapore students are known to do well academically through Singapore's well structured education system, the real world is more complex with no certain path to success. Such a tie up between business and school is a good opportunity for students to learn various elements in a business.
Knowledge and applications is a circular process. School is for gaining knowledge to be applied in the real world setting and application will reveal where knowledge is lacking. Through this programme, Beta-Simplicity hopes to provide an avenue for the students to apply their knowledge through the various stages of product conceptualizing, design, development and as far as market launch. Demonstrating Beta-Simplicity commitment to this programme, the first mentor will be Mr Jonathan Teo, founder of Beta-Simplicity and an alumni of NJC. "Through our participation in this programme, we want the students to venture as far as their interests and commitment takes them." Jonathan Teo.
Singapore is a small country in a competitive global economy. There are never ending tasks to complete and always a next milestone to hit. However, as a Singapore company, it is just as important to make time to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs.
